Getting Started on Loop Made Easy

Do you think Loop could help you improve management of your diabetes and blood glucose levels?

Would you like your HgA1c go down and your Time in Range go up?

Do you need help in setting up Loop?

If you answered YES to these questions, I can help you set-up Loop.  Many people would like to use Loop to help manage their diabetes, but do not feel capable or comfortable setting up the Loop for themselves.  My ambition is to take the hassle out of getting started using Loop, so looping is available to everyone.

More People Using Loop = Better Diabetes Management For More People

What is the Loop?

Loop is a do it yourself automatic insulin delivery system.  If you are not familiar with the Loop or want to know more, you can read about it here.

Why am I doing this?

My wife has had T1D for over 30 years.  Starting on her first insulin pump was the first major improvement in her management and lifestyle, then the next major improvement was her continuous glucose monitor.  She was excited to start using the Loop but preferred to continue to use the Omnipod system.  Once the Loop was available for the Omnipod, we got her looping as soon as possible.  Using Loop has been the next major improvement and has really helped her manage her blood glucose levels.  While using Loop her time in range has typically been around 90%.  Therefore, this type of technological aid should be available to as many people with diabetes as possible without any restrictions on their ability to build the automated insulin delivery system themselves.

What services do I provide?

I provide two services: 1) “Loop Set-up Help” (LSH) and 2) “Loop Set-up Help – Remote” (LSH – Remote).  I download the Loop application on your phone from my computer and get you started looping with the LSH service.  Otherwise, I  build the application on my computer using your iPhone’s UDID, email files to you for building the Loop app on your iPhone using Apple Configurator, and get you started looping via a Zoom meeting call with the LSH – Remote service  More details are available under Services.

The LSH – Remote service am I able to help?

For the LSH service I live in San Diego and need to have your phone to perform my service, so you need come to my location (Rancho Penasquitos near the intersection of Carmel Mountain Road and Interstate 15).  For the LSH – Remote service, I can help anyone that has or can get access to an Apple computer capable of running Apple Configurator.  If you do not have an Apple computer, you will only need access to an Apple computer for 10-15 minutes or less to load Loop on your iPhone.
